Admission Advice
1. Admission Average = for all provinces, the best grade for each required course will be used (either the course mark or the course mark blended with the provincial exam).
2. Students in other admission categories (eg - Admission from other Post-Secondary Institutions, Mature Student Entry, Special Entry) should refer to the UNBC Admissions page.

New students are admitted to the program in one of three ways:
Path #1: Working/Paid Professional (for education assistants employed in a public school or Group 1 Independent School)
Path #2: Active Volunteers (for students with school-based volunteer experience)
Path #3: Special Admission (for students who do not qualify for full admission into the program. Special admission students can register for one semester in CASS 110, CASS 120 and/or CASS130)
Note (*): If you did not achieve at least a "C" grade in English 12 (or equivalent) you must write an English test at CNC. To do so, contact CNC's Testing and Tutoring Services at 1.800.371.8111, ext. 5837
Admission Advice
1. To obtain the program Information and Application package (with appropriate forms), click here.
2. All students must submit proof of application for a Criminal Record Check for CASS 195.
Academic
Early applications are accepted up to one year in advance of the intended start date. The application deadline is March 1 for the September and May entry, and November 1 for the January entry. Students are encouraged to apply early in advance of application deadlines. Deadlines are subject to change and may be extended.

There are two entry points for this program:
Admission Advice
1. You must be admitted to the program before beginning your professional education courses.
2. You are encouraged to identify your fluency in a specific language (Gitksanimx, Nisga'a, Ts'msyen Sm'algyax or Carrier language) and your knowledge of Gitksan, Nisga'a, Ts'msyen or Carrier culture and history.
3. Advanced placement in language courses may be considered if you are able to demonstrate fluency in the language.
