1. Admission Average = for all provinces, the best grade for each required course will be used (either the course mark or the course mark blended with the provincial exam).
2. Students in other admission categories (eg - Admission from other Post-Secondary Institutions, Mature Student Entry, Special Entry) should refer to the UNBC Admissions page.
Early applications are accepted up to one year in advance of the intended start date. The application deadline is March 1 for the September and May entry, and November 1 for the January entry. Students are encouraged to apply early in advance of application deadlines. Deadlines are subject to change and may be extended.

Admission Advice
Annual documentation of current, practising College of Registered Nurses of BC (CRNBC) licensure is required while enrolled in the program.

Note (*): If you meet the English proficiency requirement using an IELTS score and have a writing band of 6.0 or less, you are required to complete NLC English 099 with at least a "B" grade in your first semester at NLC.

1. If your high school was not taught in English, click here for NLC’s general English Language Proficiency requirements.
2. If you do not meet the above admission requirements, you can gain program entry by successfully completing the appropriate assessments and/or upgrading courses. Feedback on the Assessments will be provided to help you make informed decisions about appropriate selection of upgrading courses. For more details, please contact a NLC academic advisor.
3. Aside from program entry/admission requirements, there are also specific course registration requirements (called prerequisites) which are listed within Northern Lights College’s course description. Some courses have recommended or required course prerequisites. Please make sure you meet the course prerequisites before registering individual courses.

3. If you do not have the prerequisites for the courses you wish to take, it's possible to upgrade by taking Career and College Preparation courses along with selected university credit courses.
