    1. The Northern Collaborative Baccalaureate Nursing Program leads to UNBC’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN).

    2. If English is not your first language, regardless of your citizenship or country of origin, you must meet the following English language proficiency requirement:

    • BC Secondary School English 12 (or equivalent) = 70%

            And one of:

    • International English Language Testing System (Academic IELTS) = 7.0 overall, with at least 7.0 in speaking, 7.0 writing, 7.5 listening and 6.5 reading
    • Canadian English Language Assessment for Burses (CELBAN) = 8.0 speaking, 8.0 reading, listening 10 and writing 7.0

    3. Admission is based on academic qualifications and available space.

    • submit documentation of CPR certification, Level C, which must be maintained throughout the program

    Admission Advice
    1. This is a four-year degree program and consists of 136 credits with 95 required credits in nursing. The program is available at three sites: Prince George, Quesnel and Terrace. College of New Caledonia provides the initial 2 years in Prince George and Quesnel, while Coast Mountain College provides the initial 2 years in Terrace. UNBC provides the final course work at all sites.

    2. If your first language is not English, regardless of citizenship  or country of origin, you must submit the following evidence of English language proficiency prior to admission::
    • BC Secondary School English 12 or equivalent (70%); and

    Admission Advice  

    1. After completing two years of study at CMTN, NCBNP students continue at UNBC Terrace Campus (or transfer to a partner site) to complete third and fourth year of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN).

    2. Self-identified Aboriginal applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be given priority for up to 20% of the first-year seats for the program.

    3. Admission will be offered to the applicants with the highest GPA in the four specific pre-requisite courses. In the event of a tie, these courses will be weighted in the following priority: English, Biology, Math and Chemistry.

    4. University transferable courses in English, Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics (not statistics) can be used in lieu of the respective high school courses required for admission. If you have the high school prerequisite courses and more advanced courses, the courses with the higher grades will be used in determining the admission GPA.

    5. British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP) requires all applicants to demonstrate a minimum level of English language proficiency before they can begin practicing nursing in BC. If English is not your first language, regardless of your citizenship or country of origin, you must provide evidence of your English language proficiency through IELTS or CELBAN in addition to fulfilling the requirement of English 12.
