New Coast Mountain College community fitness centre opens (Terrace campus)— New CMTN fitness centre now open to the public and students. The Northern Development Initiative Trust approved $250,000 to build the centre, which features cardio machines, free weights, an open workout zone and a separate room for group activities. Dive into Coastal Ecology at CMTN College— The Applied Coastal Ecology program at Coast Mountain College’s Prince Rupert campus provides students hands-on experience and knowledge to transition into careers in coastal resources management, ecosystem restoration, environmental monitoring and many others. NEW! UNBC students can complete their full engineering degree in the North— A wealth of opportunities for new graduates of tech programs at UNBC and CNC. NEW! Northern Lights College introduces new trades and health studies programs— NLC has launched a new Piping Trades Foundation Training Program at their Dawson Creek campus, which includes foundational technical training required to enter into the trades of Plumber and Steamfitter/Pipefitter. The new Associate of Arts in Health Studies Degree at NLC prepares students for entry into health-related degree programs. The associate degree can be transferred to most post-secondary institutions in BC. Learn about the Associate of Arts in Health Studies Program.
